The Israeli occupation government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, aims to resume aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, hiding behind U.S. support following the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, according to Osama Hamdan, a senior official of the Hamas resistance movement.

Hamdan stated that Israeli violations never ceased, demonstrating an intent to sabotage the agreement. He criticized Netanyahu’s decision to adopt U.S. proposals for extending the initial phase under different terms than those agreed upon.

Hamdan also accused Israel of blocking humanitarian aid, allowing only 15 out of 60,000 agreed-upon relief caravans, preventing fuel imports by rejecting the entry of 50 fuel trucks per day, and blocking heavy machinery for debris removal, with only 9 out of 500 needed machines allowed in.

He also said that Israel is preventing reconstruction, medical supplies, and cash flow into Gaza’s banks. Meanwhile, Israeli forces have advanced militarily beyond established lines, particularly in the Philadelphi Corridor, moving 300 to 500 meters past marked boundaries. Reports also indicate Israeli forces have been shooting civilians, demolishing homes, and seizing land.

According to Hamas, since the ceasefire began, there have been 962 Israeli violations, including 219 reconnaissance flights, 77 shooting incidents, 45 armored vehicle incursions, and 37 bombings. These attacks have resulted in 116 Palestinian deaths and 490 injuries. Hamdan also condemned Israeli actions at the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, where civilians and wounded patients were denied exit.

Hamdan accused Israel of delaying prisoner releases, stating that 600 Palestinian detainees were withheld for five days with unfounded excuses. Between February 15 and 26, detainees were allegedly forced to wear uniforms with Nazi and racist symbols, suffering beatings, humiliation, and starvation before release.

He also stated that hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza remain unidentified, with only 2,000 names disclosed, and that 70-year-old detainee Siham Mousa Abu Mazen remains imprisoned.

Hamdan claimed that Israel violated withdrawal commitments in the Philadelphi Corridor, stating that the promised gradual troop reduction never occurred. Instead of reducing 50 meters weekly, Israeli forces advanced further. He also said the withdrawal did not begin on day 42 or conclude on day 50, as agreed.

Hamdan accused Tel Aviv of deliberately delaying second-phase negotiations, which were set to begin on day 16 of the agreement. Instead, Israel demanded a new deal contradicting previous commitments. He held Netanyahu and his government responsible for any actions jeopardizing the agreement, including humanitarian consequences for Israeli captives in Gaza.

Hamdan urged mediators and the international community to stop Netanyahu’s sabotage of negotiations, force Israel to reopen border crossings and allow humanitarian aid, and ensure compliance with obligations under the ceasefire agreement.

He concluded by calling for a just solution to the Palestinian issue, including the right to self-determination, an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the return of Palestinian refugees.

Finally, he warned that global security and stability are at risk due to U.S. support for Israel and international silence on Israeli military actions, including threats of renewed war in Gaza, intensified attacks in the West Bank, and continued aggression in Lebanon.
